Victims of meningitis on the rise and it is imperative they contact an attorney immediately before time runs out.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention updated the count on Monday, saying 105 cases in a deadly meningitis outbreak had been reported nationwide, with eight deaths. In Tennessee, health officials said the number of cases increased by three to 35, with four deaths.  A rare outbreak of fungal meningitis linked to steroid injections has claimed three more lives and New Jersey became the tenth state to report at least one case of the illness in a widening health scare, health authorities said on Tuesday.  The Centers for Disease Control confirmed that two more people had died from meningitis in Tennessee, and one more in Michigan after receiving injections of potentially tainted steroid, bringing the number of deaths nationwide to 11.  The number of people sickened reached 119 on Tuesday, 14 cases more than had been reported by Monday.  Victims that have been afflicted by this have rights and there are applicable time limits called statute of limitations that affect ability to file suit. It is imperative that victims call an attorney and become informed of their rights.  The law office of Roland Mumford is currently accepting patients that were harmed by this negligence.  Call 615.348.0070 for attorney Roland Mumford.

All of the infected patients received lumbar epidural steroid injections at the Saint Thomas Outpatient Neurosurgery Center between July 30, 2012 and September 20, 2012. All 737 patients who received the injections during this period have allegedly been contacted by the facility.  A proper investigation of your claim can determine if Saint Thomas is liable. However, the Tennessean reports that there has been no definitive link between the steroid solution and the fungal meningitis infections that have injured nine people and killed two. The company that manufactured the solution has not yet been voluntarily released.

Our investigation of New England Compounding Center is ongoing.

Three Democratic members of the U.S. House of Representatives called on Tuesday for a congressional probe of the meningitis outbreak.  Tennessee is the hardest hit state with six deaths and 39 cases of meningitis, followed by Michigan with three deaths and 25 cases, Virginia with one death and 24 cases and Maryland with one death and eight cases.  Source:  Chicago Tribune
