Smith County received its 29th consecutive Governor’s Three Star Award in September of 2011.  Smith County is a county located in the U.S. state of Tennessee. As of 2000, the population was 17,712. Its county seat is Carthage[1]. It was created in 1799 and is named for Daniel Smith (surveyor), a Revolutionary War veteran who made the first map of Tennessee and served as a United States Senator.

In Hendersonville, he attended Beech Senior High School where played soccer and studied in the honors curriculum.
